WEEK 3 RECAP

This week was rough for a lot of teams with injured players who didn’t play. Be sure to check ESPN’s injury blog Sunday mornings to make sure all of your players are...actually playing: http://espn.go.com/blog/stephania-bell/. Now, let’s get to this recap!

1. DC KHALEESI (3-0)
Peyton Manning continues his run as the leading scorer in all of fantasy, and Jamaal Charles ran all over the Philly D even when he wasn’t touching the ball. With 2 RBs coming back soon from injury, DC Khaleesi looks like her reign is just beginning.

2. THINK LIKE A MANNING (2-1)
This week brought the first loss to Think Like a Manning, with most of the team scoring under 10 points. A concussion left TLAM with a zero from Jermichael Finley. Joique Bell came through with a big performance with Reggie Bush out, but Marshawn Lynch only got 7 points against the Jags...really? Really.

3. CRANNOGMEN (2-1)
The Crannogmen pulled out a win this week with awesome performances from wide receiver Antonio Brown and tight end Jimmy Graham, proving that a great tight end and an open wide receiver are a real winning combination. QB Colin Kaepernick was quite a drag on this team though, bringing in only 5 fantasy points for the Crannogs.

4. TEAM(youbetta)TWERK (2-1)
This week has unfortunately slowed the twerk of this team, bringing the first loss of the season. Reggie Bush’s knee kept him out of the game entirely, leaving one of Team Twerk’s RB slots with zero points. Despite the week’s loss, there were still fine performances from Ahmad Bradshaw, Aaron Rodgers, and the Cincinnati defense.

5. SUNDAY FUNDAY (2-1)
For the first time in 21 games, the Detroit Lions won at Washington, but the weekend wasn’t all bad for Sunday Funday. RGIII and Alfred Morris scored respectable points, helping bring about the win for this team. No one saw Cleveland coming, but bench player Josh Gordon scored more than any of the starting players for Sunday Funday. Maybe this is the start of a winning streak for the Browns and Sunday Funday? Only time will tell.

6. LOVE ME HARBAUGHS (2-1)
Drew Brees led LMH to victory with the highest QB score of the week. RB Darren McFadden, kicker Steven Hauschka, and the NE Patriots defense were the other point leaders this week. On the Harbaugh scale, this week’s win gets a John.

7. DOUBLE ENT-ANDRES (1-2)
The Double Ent-Andres started to live up to their name and finally got in the win column this week. Demarco Murray ran all over the Rams’ supposedly solid defense and how about them Browns not giving up this season. Who needs Richardson or Brandon Weeden?

8. TEBOW’S TINGLE (1-2)
Cam Newton got his Superman swag back this week, and Adrian Peterson was... Adrian Peterson. The rest of the team struggled. Frank Gore keeps underperforming and the every other starter had a single digit performance. Also the Giants basically just crawled into the fetal position this week. Better luck next time, TT.

9. KRITTIKA’S TEAM (1-2)
Tom Brady finally had a salvageable game, and Lesean McCoy continued his bid for leading rusher of the year. Shady was playing so well that everyone was getting a chest bump. Eric Decker also made his debut as the 3rd amigo in Denver.

10. BUKKICKERS (1-2)
Let Bukkickers’ week 3 be another reminder to us all to check the injury reports to avoid any surprises. Ray Rice and Vernon Davis were scratches this week, and Hakeem Nicks might as well have not even played. Great performances from Matt Ryan and Calvin Johnson were not enough to pull Bukkickers’ score up ahead of the Crannogmen. The Chicago defense were the stars of the team this week, scoring two defensive touchdowns and bringing in 25 points.

11. 50SHADESOFRAY(LEWIS) (1-2)
It was a rough week for 50SORL, with most players underperforming. In fact, bench player Sidney Rice had the highest score of the week with 2 other WRs scoring in double digits. Might be time to bench David Wilson for anybody who has ever played football...ever.

12. TOUCHDOWN YEEZUS (0-3)
Fantasy is a fickle beast and this week proved it for our commissioner. Arian Foster has not lived up to the #2 overall pick of the draft. Despite most of the starting lineup scoring in single digits, TD Yeezus’ fate once again depended on the Monday night game and was narrowly dashed when Darren McFadden decided to get fancy.

BYE WEEK:

Don’t forget that this week is the season’s first BYE week which means that some teams may be off this week.

The next bonus point contest will be poker Sunday, September 29th at 4pm in Navy Yard. Depending on how many people can play, there will be points awarded by your standing in the game.
