WEEK 8 RECAP

Better late than never, here is your week eight recap!

1. DC Khaleesi (7-1) was helped this week by recent pickup Terrance Williams, who overshot his projection and had a great game with the Cowboys against the Lions. The Broncos-Redskins game had Miranda on the edge of her seat for a while, as the Broncos seemed to be getting their asses handed to them. The white horse remained triumphant, though, with a second-half turnaround and win.

2. Crannogmen (5-3) barely edged out Betsy, overcoming a 20 point deficit due to losing fishbowl (Benedict Cumberbatch, anyone?). Colin Kaepernick had a strong game against the Jaguars, and despite the win I bet Luke wishes he had played TE Jimmy Graham, who had a surprisingly strong performance dealing with a foot injury that has taken down Billy Fettweis.

3. Think Like a Manning (5-3) lucked out in their matchup this week against our token Taco, who is studying for the LSAT. Even though most of his players scored fewer than 10 points each, Dana pulled out a win with 20 bonus points and a strong game from QB Matthew Stafford.

4. Love Me Harbaughs (5-3) had an amazing game by Drew Brees and 20 bonus points from fishbowl, but it wasn’t enough to edge out Luke in this matchup. A poor performances from TE Zach Ertz and only two points from the Seattle Kicker allowed Luke to take the lead and ultimately give Betsy her third loss of the season.

5. Sunday Funday (5-3) was taken on a wild roller coaster of emotions this week by her beloved Redskins. RGIII and Alfred Morris tried as hard as they could, but could not revive the wild hogs of old, and the offensive line was ultimately not strong enough to beat Denver. Cleveland WR Josh Gordon had an amazing week, which buoyed Lauren’s score, but not enough to beat Jamie’s team.

6.  Speaking of Jamie’s team, Team(youbetta)TWERK (5-3) had a great week, coming back after a devastating loss to the Bukkickers. Aaron Rodgers and Reggie Bush performed well as expected, and the Cincinnati defense came through with two defensive touchdowns. All this combined gave Jamie a win this week, putting him in 6th place.

7. The winning streak continues for Tebow’s Tingle (4-4), whose victory this week over Billy’s team showed Amanda what it feels like to be on the winning side of a bonus points victory. Adrian Peterson was back on his game this week, but it was nothing compared to Amanda’s fishbowl skills. Giants kicker Josh Brown scored more points than Peterson this week, and this is why Miranda continues to believe that kickers are vital to a teams success.

8. Bukkickers (4-4) lucked out with C. Johnson this week, whose blue uniform really brought out Billy’s eyes. J. Bell, wearing the same uniform, also brought out Billy’s eyes and brought in some points for his fantasy team. The case could also be made for G. Tate’s team colors being a complement to the Mykonos blue of B. Fettweis’s baby blues, though it might stretch his wardrobe a little. What were we talking about?

9. The winning streak for the Double Ent-Andres (3-5) was finally busted this week with a decisive loss to Anthony’s team. Julius Thomas injured his ankle and left the game, and Amendola could not make up for the Patriots sucking. Eddie Lacy and Cam Newton had strong games, but all his wheeling and dealing wasn’t enough to bring Jon a win this week.

10. Victory was sweet for Touchdown Yeezus (3-5) this week, who was helped by 20 bonus points from fishbowl. Top performers were Tony Romo and Darren McFadden, and Gronk did his best with what he got from the Patriots, but underperformed this week. Anthony would have won without the bonus points, but they certainly don’t hurt as he climbs his way to the top.

11. 50ShadesOfRay(Lewis) (1-7) started 2 players on bye-week and one who was out with an injury, but she still had strong performances from the Denver defense and Wes Welker. This team is pretty strong and would be even stronger if the team owner wasn’t currently studying for the LSAT!

12. Like Tom Brady and the Patriots, Lightning McCoy (1-7) is trying her best but fell short this week in her matchup against DC Khaleesi. Despite mistaking them for the Saints, the St. Louis Rams had a good game and their defense outperformed their projected score. Krittika is not worried though, because in a beauty contest her team would win, hands-down.
